Seven cars with drivers and passengers assembled at the BP station at Drury on the southern motorway and set off for a relaxing run at 11am.   It was a beautiful day with plenty of blue sky and sun.

The easy-to-follow directions, plus the absence of any need to search for clues en route, enabled us to more easily see and appreciate the wonderful countryside so close to our city.  The route took us just over one hour to reach Kaiaua and followed a generally semi-circular sweep south and then east toward the Firth of Thames.

Eight of us went to the hotel to have lunch, the rest went to the Fish & Chip shop but all were finally together in the hotel for beverages and socializing. A simple but enjoyable day.
